Overview: FoCC was founded in 2024, in Budapest, and consists of Orsolya Kaincz (electronics), David Karla (reed instruments) and Nikolaus Gerszewski (guitar, vocals, percussion). The trio is dedicated to both unconditional improvisation and experimental process music. The members have known each other for a decade and have been musicking together in projects with composers Phill Niblock, Christoph Herndler, Peter Ablinger and Ulrich Krieger, so that there was a solid foundation for the collaboration and practically no extra-musical communication is necessary when improvising together. There is a mutual trust in each other's ability to process any idea that arises, which gives the individual musician the necessary creative space to follow his or her musical instinct unrestrained. In this way, a broad spectrum of musical material, from modern composition to noise, lower case, prog rock, free blues, ambient and field recording, organically merges into a varied soundscape that can take a surprising direction at any moment.
